Description MATERIALS: Cotton cloth, cotton thread, mirrors, sequins, beads, tassels, metallic thread.
CONSTRUCTION: Machine st., embr : double running, satin, interlaced, Cross, couched, Romanian, btt. hole stitches.
MOTIFS: Phali - Kharek,guli, suf-chaki.
STYLE REMARKS: Kharek & Suf.
CULTURAL SIGNIFICANCE: Toran used above door for auspicious occassions.
CULTURAL REMARKS: Embr. torans by Hindus throughout Sindh, Gujarat, Rajasthan. Their leaves resemble the origin toran-a string of mango or Asoka tree leaves.
