Description MATERIALS: Cotton cloth.
CONSTRUCTION: Block printed, chemical dyed made in two parts stitched together.
MOTIFS: Borders have buttis and vines and centre is a grid with square motif and petals alternating.
COLOURS : Yellow, white, green on red.
STYLE REMARKS: The pattern copies traditional bandhani pattern.
CULTURAL SIGNIFICANCE:
CULTURAL REMARKS: Block printing was faster to make and cheaper than bandhani and was often used for daily wear. The larger pattern also resembles roghan work.
