Description MATERIALS: Cotton and silk cloth, cotton threads, beads, cowrie shells, tassels.
CONSTRUCTION: Stuffed cloth base is covered with cowrie shells, and wrapped threads, joined by beaded net cowrie and tassels. Large beads and cowrie tassels at bottom.
MOTIFS: None.
COLOURS :Multicoloured with white cowrie.
STYLE REMARKS: The tiny cowrie shells were highly prized. Today they are no longer available and are replaced by glass bead replicas.
CULTURAL SIGNIFICANCE: Worn by a groom at wedding-once only.
CULTURAL REMARKS: Women wear a chotlo with three beaded and tasseled parts, braided into their hair.
