| MATERIALS: Cotton drill cloth, cotton cloth, cotton threads, buttons, tassels and strings. CONSTRUCTION: Hand stitched, appique and embroidered, running, interlaced, square chain stitches. MOTIFS: Daanta, makodiyun, mokre and aridhiya. COLOURS : Multicoloured on natural with dark maroon piping. STYLE REMARKS: Dark maroon and other dark colours are typical of Dhebharia and Vaghadhia work.. Interlaced square chain is very old technique which is skill practiced by Bhopa Rabaris in Dwarks who migrated from Kutch in 15th century. Combination of applique and embroidery is preferred by Vaghadia Rabaris. This simple style is one of several types of bag. Generally larger ones are known as Kothli of kothlo. CULTURAL SIGNIFICANCE: Used by men for keeping pan, tobacco bidis etc. CULTURAL REMARKS: Relted tassels are only used by Vaghadia Rabaris in Kutch.
