Description MATERIALS: Silk cloth, cotton threads, buttons, mirrors, beads, cowries and tassels.
CONSTRUCTION:Hand stitched constructed of three pockets edged with cowries, beads and tassels, embroidered, square chain, cretan, interlaced, buttonhole filling, couched, buttonhole, herringbone stitches.
MOTIFS: Popti, gol tak, makodiyun, kachbo, sudo, bandh kaanch, and limbudi tak.
COLOURS :Multicoloured on red.
STYLE REMARKS: Dhebharis work is characterized by very fine stitching and elaborate detailing. The kachbo is typical of Dhebaria work. It shows influenceof Ahirs, who lived in the same region as Dhebarias.
CULTURAL SIGNIFICANCE: The batuvo is folded and tucked into the waist. It was used by both men and women at ceremonial occasions to carry tobacco, paan, coins.
CULTURAL REMARKS: Such pieces have not been in use since the mid 1970's.
