Description 
MATERIALS: Cotton cloth, cotton threads. CONSTRUCTION: Hand stitched, applique, embroidered: back, square chain, interlaced, couched, back stitches. MOTIFS: Ardho dhabo, tak bawaliyun, limbudi tak, mokre and devdi. COLOURS : Red print body, blue edges, multi coloured threads. STYLE REMARKS: Rabari applique is figural and much emulates embroidery in motifs. Rabari work is distinguished by the use of thin strips of applique almost like piping. CULTURAL SIGNIFICANCE: Originally applique was a way to kake use of old clothes. The gharanu is used by men to carry roti while herding. Decorated gharanu is used ceremonially. They bring rotlo bring rotlo at time of delivering bride's ornaments. CULTURAL REMARKS: Generally applique is used for a few specific items, such as quilts, cradle cloths, camel trappings, and gharanu. As fashion, some artisans also make toran and theli in applique.
