Description 
MATERIALS: Cotton cloth, cotton and silk threads, mirrors, and tassels. CONSTRUCTION: Hand and machine stitched, embroidered, chain, cretan, interlaced, herringbone, detached chain, back, romanian and running stitches. MOTIFS: Popti, makodiyun, tak bawaliyun, limbuditak and khajalo. COLOURS : Multicoloured on black red and White. STYLE REMARKS: This exemplifies the oldest extant style of Kutchi Rabaris, typified by chain and herringbone stitches, the use of the Kori goto-ghodi motif. Note that the two, though made as a pair, are not identical. One has added flowers; one substitutes a parrot motif for the ghodi. The eight pinted star motif has different names according to its placement. In a toran or chaklo, it is called khajlo. CULTURAL SIGNIFICANCE: Used as part of a seven piece set to decorate a doorway for an auspicious occassions. CULTURAL REMARKS: This pair is part of a seven piece set that Rabaris use to decorate the doorway and walls between outer and inner rooms of their house.
