| MATERIALS: Synthetics, Cotton cloth, cotton threads and sequins. CONSTRUCTION: Machine stitched, ruffled, hand applique, embroidered; interlaced stitches. MOTIFS: Kungri, vel, phul.. COLOURS : Multicoloured on blue with orange. STYLE REMARKS: Rabari applique is figural and much emulates embroidery in motifs. Rabari work is distinguished by the use of thin strips of applique almost like piping. CULTURAL SIGNIFICANCE: The camel is the original source of Rabari livelihood and still culturally imporatant. For ceremonial occasions, a camel was elaborately decorated with embroidered, appliqued and twined trappings. This is one of a two part set.
