MATERIALS: cotton cloth, cotton threads, mirrors, button, rickrack, ties.
CONSTRUCTION: Machine and hand stitched., embroidered , square chain, interlaced, cretan, couched, herringbone stitches.
MOTIFS: Limbudi tak, makodiyun, tak bawaliyun, goto, phuli.
COLOURS : Multicoloured on green and orange.
STYLE REMARKS: Pattern is traditional to the piece.
CULTURAL SIGNIFICANCE: Originally applique was a way to make use of old clothes. The gharanu is used by men to carry roti while herding.
CULTURAL REMARKS: Generally applique is used for a few specific items, such as quilts, cradle cloths, camel trappings, and gharanu. As a fashion, some artisans also make toran and theli in applique.
